Wreck recovery and travel

Turned in the Jeep today to the body shop, but not before waiting almost an hour for the shop owner who never showed up. I then proceeded to the rent-a-car place where I got the keys to a shiny new POS Stratus. This thing just doesn’t go, and calling the handling vague would be an understatement.

I’m off on another week long business trip. Maybe I’ll find something less collision happy to do this week. In the meantime it’s Au revoir USA.

Bad drivers

I got rear ended tonight near highway 85 and 101. I was just stopping for some traffic ahead and the next thing I know… wham! My rear bumper is rather broken and the other guy has no more front end or radiator. The thing is, this car is nearly out of here, with the lease due in two months. What a crappy thing to deal with this late.

And the kicker is that the guy (Indian) only said “I’m sorry.” Like that’s supposed to pay for the bumper. Damn California drivers!

Back, sort of

I’m back from the Asia trip, work related, of course. Soon I’m off to visit the Redmond boys, so another trip is ahead. For a new job, there sure is little time to get work done with all of this travelling. Goofy.

Back and forth

Well, I made it back from vacation and it ended up alright. Next steps are to write it all up, send the pictures out for development (darn film) and post it all up here. Maybe it will get done shortly, we’ll see.

New job started today and requires me to fly out of here (and out of the US) starting on Saturday for a week. Gotta love that travel stuff. Frequent flyer miles, here I come!

Vacations that suck

Just my luck. I plan a vacation and the weather is so bad it delays me getting here, then makes it not possible to do what I came to do: dive. At least the people are nice and the drinks are cold.

Now whatever will I do with the rest of the week?

Dumbness

Sometimes I think that people just don’t listen. I have setup my land line so that it forces caller ID before people leave messages. That screens just about everything out. But, somehow this crazy woman got through. I have no idea what she’s saying but I tried to figure it out. If you want to know, maybe you should call her at 209-962-7628.

Can you tell what she’s saying?

Almost Finished

It’s all over but the crying, or at least the paperwork. The end of one job and start of another happens tomorrow. I wonder what will become of it all.

In other developments, expect yet another domain to work on shortly. This one will focus on an over enthusiastic desire to spend money by attaching motors to balsa wood (and sometimes foam) and ramming them into the earth at high speed. Fun for the whole family.

Quick Fix

Added a way to get in touch with me using a nifty little email form. No fuss, no muss, and no exposed email address. Thanks to Tim for spotting this omission. Doh!

Coasting

I admit it: my last work days are a bit less stressful and far less tasking than what I have previously experienced. That has led some people to opin that I am happy. To that thought I say “bah, humbug!” I may be smug, but I’m no gleeful school kid.

That said, it is good to have supporters of my actions. Even better, it is great to have people who push me to do the right things. The best is when they pay for drinks and/or buy airplane parts. If only this could happen all of the time ;)

Oh, and if you are looking for a job, try starting here.
